STROLLER
In this hour-long class be prepared to move, sweat and have fun along with other Moms. Use your own body weight for resistance, along with the stroller, bands and balls, as well as park benches, trees, etc… To ensure you receive the utmost attention for your time, effort and money, the Movin Mamas’ class size is limited to eight participants. In the first classes, the sessions will be divided in half. The first half will be Pilates, emphasizing principles and techniques, and the second half cardio.
As the weeks progress, to get your rate up, Pilates and cardio will be fused throughout the whole hour. This unique combination of Pilates and cardio will teach you how to use your abdominal muscles properly and work in proper alignment during the workout to maximize results and prevent injury. Unlike other stroller-based fitness classes in NYC, Movin’ Mamas assesses its participants’ progress, caps its class size and requires a commitment to fitness by asking participants to sign-up for a series of classes to increase chances of commitment and success.
INDOOR MAMA AND BABY BOOT CAMP
Your wish is our command – consistency and comfort for you and your baby. Movin’ Mamas is now available year-round. Classes are offered indoors mid-October through mid-April @ the JCC of Manhattan (76th and Amsterdam). Classes are similar to the outdoor Movin’ Mamas classes with Pilates mat work, running stairs, squats, lunges, etc… The only differences are that you will be dry and warm inside instead of outside, and although babies are incorporated into the class, strollers are not included in this indoor version of Movin’ Mamas.
BOOT CAMP: STROLLER OPTIONAL
Similar to the Movin’ Mamas signature stroller classes but indoors and without the stroller (carriers welcome), the Movin’ Mamas Boot Camp has a maximum of eight participants to guarantee personalized attention to each individual, has moms moving, sweating and strength training, while using Pilates-based techniques and a specific focus on alignment. The boot camp becomes more challenging as the class progresses over time.
